Rondo en Re

Inspired in the first movement of Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta by Béla Bártok, this string quartet centers arround a fugued theme, adding several stylistic elements of the composer.

This work has been nominated finalist in the Carlo San Vitale Composition Competition 2020.

The Madhouse

The saxophone quartet incorporated various elements of Messiaen, such as rythmical variations or limited transposition modes. The title refers to the chaotic sounding main melodic theme of the piece, that seems to announce a point of insanity.

Premiered at Casa Bardín in 2021, with thanks to Felicia Gómez Escudero (soprano saxophone), José Antonio Pérez Lorente (alto saxophone), Enric Alcalde Barrios (tenor saxophone) and Adrián Carreto Crespo (baritone saxophone).

Sombras del Olvido

Translated The Shadows of Oblivion, this piece is inspired by the creations of Jesús Tarrella, in which he captures the phenomenon of deserted cities. The slow and solemn motif of the clarinets attempts to reflect the sense of loneliness and restlessness conveyed by his images of deserted and forgotten cities.

Premiered at Casa Bardín in 2022, thanks to the members of the Aklarinet Leuka Quartet: Rubén Sánchez, Rosa Maria Martínez, Xavier Corraliza and Carlos Berenguer. Another thank you to the photographer Jesús Tarrarrella.
